Wolfe
island is thirty kilometers long and eleven wide, it is the largest
of the St. Lawrence's famed thousand islands,and about eighteen minutes
by ferry from Kingston.
Nearly 1350 residents
live there year round, but in summer cottages triple the population.
This year Canadian Hydro Developers are installing 86 wind turbines
at a cost of 480 million dollars to produce enough electricity
to power 75,000 homes. As the 197.8 megawatt project gets underway,
visitors are flocking to the island to view the sites.
